Wayne Cheng, Owner / CEO
Since 1992, Mr. Cheng has been the founder, principal shareholder, director and an executive officer of various affiliates of Pacific Castle, which have acquired numerous properties with a market value in excess of $500 million. Affiliates of Pacific Castle currently own and/or manage a portfolio of premier shopping centers in the western United States. The total portfolio is comprised of nearly 2 million square feet. From 1987 to 1989, Mr. Cheng was a professional accountant at Ernst & Young (formerly Arthur Young, CPA’s) in Los Angeles, California and prior to that worked in the tax department of KPMG Peat Marwick.
Rod Astarabadi, President
Rod Astarabadi is the President of Pacific Castle. He has over 28 years of real estate investment and management experience with over $1 billion of transaction and financing track record. Mr. Astarabadi joined the Pacific Castle management team in 2002 with responsibilities including the company’s plans, strategies and operations including direct oversight of all asset and property management, leasing and acquisitions/capital markets. Prior to joining Pacific Castle Management, inc., he served as Director of Due Diligence of Passco Real Estate Enterprises from 1999 to 2002, as Portfolio manager for Wilshire Financial Services Group from 1995 to 1998 and handled acquisitions, property and asset management for Investment Real estate Services for 10 years prior to joining Wilshire Financial Services Group. Mr. Astarabadi is a 1985 graduate of California State University at Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and is licensed by the California Real Estate Department.
Jonathan Chang, Director of Investments
Jonathan Chang joined Pacific Castle in 2008. As the Director of Investments he is in charge of all underwriting and acquisitions at Pacific Castle and since his arrival he has acquired over $300 Million in retail real estate for Pacific Castle. Prior to joining Pacific Castle Mr. Chang was a principal in a tech startup that was acquired and thereafter went public for a valuation of over $1 Billion Dollars. Mr. Chang continues to serve on the board of multiple tech ventures which allows him to have a unique perspective in viewing and underwriting real estate investments. He is also an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and is often invited to speak at conferences on real estate investments.
